On March 23, 2010, the CoOPDM brought together over 130 community leaders, key stakeholders and decision makers for a one-day discussion on prescription drug misuse in Alberta. This event was in follow up to focus groups held in the Boyle McCauley community in Edmonton, and a Rapid Assessment research report on the state of misuse in parts of Alberta.
The CoOPDM engaged a researcher to summarize the ideas presented at the Symposium, along with feedback received in the focus groups and data provided by the rapid assessment research, into a summary report called, “From Exploration to Direction“. CoOPDM has also drafted our Response to the ideas and feedback in the “From Exploration to Direction” report, which outlines our future direction and possible next steps.
